Description
Biji Dining is a roving, modern Indian pop up restaurant that explores regional Indian cooking while celebrating local, seasonal and native Australian produce. It is the creative project of chef Harry Mangat and his wife Sandy Soerjadhi - where they can embrace the things they love most: food, people and nature. Their pop up events move where they travel; exposing them to different cultures, climates and produce - whilst maintaining their belief in sustainability, minimal waste and all that is good for this earth - supporting local growers and small producers where they travel.
Their current kitchen takeover is down in Red Hill South on the Mornington Peninsula. Open every Saturday and Sunday at Avani's award winning cellar door, enjoy the weekend feasting on a seasonal 4 course set menu overlooking Avani's biodynamic vineyard.
With a menu that regularly evolves, think of dishes such as Naga pork sausage, sambar prawns with fried curry leaves, barbecue Bengali fish and Kashmiri lamb harisa with smoked peppers. Dietaries are catered for with prior notice, simply mention at the time of bookng.
The pop up will be running at Avani Wines until Sunday, 18 December - book now and don't miss out!
